Points: The role of cooling tower fillers: As an evaporative heat dissipation device, the cooling tower can fully distribute the cooling water, thereby expanding the water film area required for heat exchange. In theory, the larger the heat dissipation area of the filler and the longer the water flow stays in the air, the better the heat exchange effect, but the corresponding wind resistance will become larger and it is easier to scale, so it is very important to choose the best heat sink form.
Effective use and replacement period of fillers: According to the customer's water quality and the continuous working time of the cooling tower, it is recommended that customers of air-conditioning systems clean it once every 2 years and replace the fillers every 6-8 years; customers with industrial water systems and continuous operation of cooling towers should shorten the maintenance and filler replacement time according to the water quality and actual use.
1. How to determine whether the filler needs maintenance and replacement:
Determine the operation of the cooling tower based on the return water temperature of the chiller condenser. If the transmission system is normal, check whether the filler is damaged, missing pieces, and short-circuited. If there is too much scale on the surface of the filler, it needs to be cleaned.
2. How to purchase and select fillers:
First, confirm which type of cooling tower filler is needed. Cross-flow cooling towers generally use hanging sheets, so please select the corresponding cooling tower model and sheet products; counter-flow towers generally use three-dimensional fillers, and the length, width, height and quantity of the fillers must be provided. Secondly, the water temperature of the cooling water must be considered, and the corresponding materials must be selected, PVC (65℃), CPVC (80℃), PP (120℃), and the impact of ultraviolet rays on the materials must be considered.
